Senior Database Engineer - UK Remote - Up to £60,000
We are looking for a Senior Database Engineer to be a key member of the team responsible for supporting our clients' distributed database environments, which span across a mixture of on-prem, hybrid and cloud infrastructure. You will work to ensure the support and maintenance of the database estate is functional as required.
What you’ll be doing
To provide effective and proactive database support & maintenance of many of the bank’s critical services, which spans across multiple database technologies (predominately Oracle & SQL Server). Provide database administrative support and guidance in the shape of: Database lifecycle support (provisioning / deletion / patching / upgrading / migrating) User Access Management Tuning and Optimisation Disaster Recovery Defect/Incident/Problem investigation across all environments, through to validation and resolution of database issues. We need you to have
A strong understanding and experience of database administration (across Oracle and SQL Server) in a Production setting. An ability to troubleshoot Production issues in an analytical manner and make recommendations to resolve issues and/or deliver enhancements. Experience of undertaking database builds, patching, migrations and upgrades. Experience of High Availability and Disaster Recovery Methods including setup, troubleshooting and support - Oracle RAC, Oracle Restart, ASM, Oracle Data Guard & SQL Server Always on High Availability. Database Performance Tuning and Optimisation skills. Experience of using Oracle Enterprise Manager. Apply today for immediate consideration.
