Where? This role will ideally be based in

Oamaru

but there is flexibility to work from other locations in Otago and South Canterbury. About the role: As Senior Delivery Manager you will report to the General Manager of Operations as one of the Senior Leadership Team. Your focus will be on ensuring the delivery of Whitestone’s Operational capacity and capability whilst leading and mentoring the teams under you.

Overseeing Road Maintenance, Traffic Management, the Quarries and other maintenance services, you will ensure contracts are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget.

This role is not only about the technical expertise you can bring to the team but there is also a huge emphasis on your leadership capabilities and how you bring people together to collaborate to work towards a common goal whilst also assisting people in furthering their own professional development. You will need to know how to celebrate success and have difficult conversations where required.

Key responsibilities:

Lead, mentor and support members of your crews. Contract & service management. Assist with budgets and forecasting. Tendering and negotiating of contracts. Reporting & documentation – contract progress, finances, quality. Health & Safety, Environmental & Quality management/compliance. Identify, promote and develop possible business opportunities. Build & nurture relationships with customers, suppliers & stakeholders. Plant management. Maintaining strong relationship and effective communication with staff, customers, suppliers, partners & other stakeholders. Collaborate to develop business plans for long-term success and sustainability. Key requirements: Relevant tertiary qualification (engineering, technology) or equivalent experience. 10+ years’ experience in the civil industry. Proven experience managing contracts successfully. Ability to coordinate multiple teams and sub-contractors. Experience leading diverse teams and identifying areas of development. Financial and commercial acumen. Thorough understanding of compliance and H&S knowledge. Strong problem solving and risk management/mitigation abilities. Benefits Vehicle Phone & laptop Flexible working arrangements where required.
