We’re growing and looking for a

Senior Design Engineer

to join our project team. You will be part of a team responsible for developing and delivering engineering solutions, from feasibility to detailed engineering design, for Electricity Transmission and Distribution Projects (33 kV and above). You will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related engineering discipline, such as Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. A-level or equivalent in Maths and aspirations for or working towards membership of a relevant professional body, such as MICE, MIStructE, MIET. Typically you’ll also have 5-10 years minimum post-graduate industry experience. Ideally, you will also be competent in the use of industry software such as PLS CADD, PLS Tower, SAPS or other similar packages, with a working knowledge of relevant national and industry standards such as BS EN 50341, the ENATS suite and client specific. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Undertake and be responsible for the design and specification of steel overhead line structures and overhead line design systems. Take responsibility for project management and ensure the achievement of all deliverables in a timely manner, including financial management and attending site meetings where appropriate. Take responsibility for all Health and Safety and CDM issues arising on projects and take a lead role in the development of OHL designs and ensure compliance with legislation. Provide technical expertise to the company, reviewing and development of company systems and provision of technical training as appropriate including the mentoring of Junior Engineers. Monitor and undertake day-to-day management of all design activities, verification of all work undertaken by your design teams and ensuring compliance with company Quality Procedures. Provide site supervision to others and to verify and approve proposed work procedures, designs, drawings, and method statements prior to work commencing.
