Senior Design Engineer - Capital Plant Equipment Location: Northern Ireland Salary: £90,000 - £120,000 base, dependent on experience About the Role: My client, a leading manufacturer specializing in crushing and screening equipment, is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Design Engineer to join their team in Northern Ireland. This is a key role in leading the design and development of large capital plant equipment while contributing to the continued success and innovation of the company. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the design process for large-scale capital equipment, ensuring adherence to project deadlines and budgets. Develop detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using advanced CAD software. Oversee the entire lifecycle of product development, from conceptual design to final production. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including production, procurement, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless project execution. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the design engineering team. Evaluate existing designs and implement improvements for enhanced efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations during the design process. Liaise with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical expertise. Candidate Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Extensive experience in the design and development of large capital plant equipment, preferably in the crushing, screening, or similar heavy machinery industry. Proven track record of managing and leading engineering teams. Proficient in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or similar tools. Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and structural engineering principles. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and external stakeholders. Why Join Us?
