Working with other members of the engineering team and liaising with other departments and customers, the Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for the development of new products and maintenance of existing screens and associated ancillary components. Main duties and responsibilities: Provide engineered solutions for the development of new and existing products. Produce detailed models, drawings and engineering BOMs for our products. Support prototype development and field testing. Support Sales and Applications departments with new enquires. Ensure current and new products meet relevant standards and performance levels specified for safety, function and reliability Reduce manufacturing cost through improved design and consultation with other departments and suppliers. Drive standardization of components and sub-assemblies within our screening products. Continuously improve and update your knowledge of industry trends and new technologies to ensure DSS products remain at the forefront of screening technology. What you will need to succeed as a DSS Design Engineer: Have a relevant third level qualification (OR 5+ years relevant/similar experience). Highly proficient in 3D modelling, preferably Creo. Good experience of other 2D Cad packages such as Autocad. Good understanding of PDM /PLM systems. Experience with Microsoft Office. Experience within heavy metal design and manufacture, preferably within the aggregate processing industry. Preferably have experience of hydraulic and electrical systems. Have excellent communication skills - verbal/written and presentation. Be flexible and adapt to new and different challenges as they present themselves. Have hands on site experience of working with aggregate processing and recycling equipment. Have a good overall knowledge of the aggregate processing and recycling industries and the challenges they face. Be creative and apply new and innovative solutions to problems. Be able to work on your own initiative. Be able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
