Permanent Rittal-CSM are looking for a knowledgeable Senior Design Engineer to join their expanding team in Plymouth. The Senior Design Engineer role will involve the design and development of IT enclosures. The ideal candidate will be experienced in: Working directly with customers to establish their requirements and the management of individual projects day-to-day. All mechanical aspects of the design including static load, dynamic load, and vibration. Working from customer specs as well as creating designs from scratch. Holding a BEng in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent. Key Duties Include: The design and development of new products: primarily but not exclusively mechanical and sheet metal. Use of Creo & Windchill software or Autodesk Inventor & Vault. Development of effective working relationships with Rittal customers who are household names in the IT and Social Media networks. The use of design tools such as DFMEA and Six Sigma tolerance analysis. Participation & leading the design reviews. Speaking directly and regularly with customers to establish their needs and update them on their projects. This Role comes with the added package of: Company bonus based on attendance, productivity, and quality. Life insurance 3 x your salary. Pension contributions matched to 5%. This is a full-time position, based on working Monday to Friday, 39 hours a week.
