UCT are specialists in designing and manufacturing transformative and sustainable technologies for the construction industry.We are now recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team based in Sheffield.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in using Autodesk Inventor software. You will have a strong background

in mechanical engineering, with a focus on designing and developing innovative solutions. You will be responsible for leading design projects and providing technical expertise across various products and systems.

You will have relevant design experience and

comprehensive knowledge of design principles and ideally construction methodologies.

Key responsibilities of the role include;

Involvement in the design and development of innovative products from concept to installation including component/system specification, definition, prototyping, manufacture, testing, and installation. Producing drawings, specifications and technical reports which may include performance and failure investigation for a wide variety of products. Assessment of technical, time and material requirements for the preparation of customer quotations. Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to gather input, review design concepts, and incorporate necessary adjustments or revisions. Evaluate and select appropriate materials, building systems, and construction methods to ensure solutions are safe, durable, and achieve the desired design intent. Developing own knowledge and ability. Continuous improvement activities to support business growth. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to continuously improve design practices and enhance construction efficiency Keeping senior management up to date on project status and progress. The successful candidate will hold a relevant engineering degree and have project management experience/qualifications.

You will have proven experience of mechanical engineering and be able to talk about your previous experience/projects.

You will be proficient

in the use of Autodesk Inventor and other 3D CAD systems. Candidates will also be able to demonstrate the following skills:

A high degree of initiative and strong problem-solving capability. Demonstrable practical manufacturing or assembly experience. The ability to work independently and contribute effectively as a member of a high-performance team. Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
