Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education. The division has manufacturing sites in three locations: Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. The purpose of this role is to deliver code-compliant, high-quality structural steelwork solutions that meet client requirements, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Key Tasks & Accountabilities Have a sound understanding of engineering principles. Work with external clients and internal stakeholders to produce practical design solutions. Carry out structural analysis and design to produce calculations for building regulations submission. Produce detailed design sketches to convey to draughtsperson with due regard to buildability and health & safety. Liaise with internal and external design teams to ensure that the design brief is clear, and a compliant design is produced. Assess, design and clearly define temporary works requirements. Ensure compliance with company operating procedures, quality assurance, statutory safety legislation and contractual responsibilities. Take responsibility for all technical aspects of a project and provide assistance to junior engineers. Required Skills and Experience: Extensive knowledge of structural steelwork design including complex solutions and temporary works solutions. Experience in Design Management. A good understanding of buildability issues on major construction sites as well as in the fabrication shop. Required Qualifications: Degree or Masters Degree in civil / structural engineering. Preferably Chartered Structural Engineer MIStructE. What We Offer
