Your new company Hays are currently recruiting for a Senior Design Manager for Water Projects to be based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. We are working in partnership with a world-leading design, engineering and project management organisation dedicated to engineering a better future for everyone. The company is committed to delivering end-to-end service to their clients across the whole life cycle from Capital, Consulting, Decommissioning, Engineering and Design, Operations and Maintenance, Project and Program management up to Project Delivery. Your new role As a Senior Design Manager, your responsibilities include: Project Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans. Lead relationships with clients, contractors, agencies, engineering firms, and consultants. Oversee the production of all project documentation, including specifications, cut sheets, and schedules. Design Leadership: Deliver technical design work in accordance with relevant design standards and codes. Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and contribute to bid proposals. Collaborate closely with teams both in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions. Risk Management: Understand, communicate, and manage project risks. Quality Assurance: Adhere to quality assurance standards in design. Your role will be critical in shaping transformational programs for essential UK infrastructure, and you’ll have the opportunity to work on iconic engineering projects both domestically and internationally. What you'll need to succeed To be successful for the Senior Design Manager role, you must have the following qualifications and skills: A chartered civil engineer. Experience leading a team of designers/engineers to deliver projects. Excellent knowledge of water and wastewater treatment, storage solutions, hydraulics. Sound knowledge of UK Design and practices.
