Our client has a strong track record of excellence in the construction sector, and they are currently seeking a skilled Senior Design Manager to join their team to lead the design function on a large-scale data centre project in the Surrey area.

The Role: As the Senior Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the design process from conception to completion for a technically challenging and high-profile data centre project. Collaborating closely with internal teams, clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors, you will ensure the design is delivered on time, within budget, and meets the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage the design process for the data centre project, ensuring design solutions meet client requirements and project objectives.

* Coordinate with architects, consultants, and other stakeholders to drive collaboration and resolve design-related issues efficiently.

* Oversee design timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within financial constraints.

* Manage design risks, identify opportunities for value engineering, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

* Conduct design reviews and ensure technical accuracy, feasibility, and constructability of design solutions.

* Provide leadership and mentoring to design teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

* Maintain clear and effective communication between all project stakeholders, ensuring expectations are aligned throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Senior Design Manager, ideally with a main contractor.

* Extensive experience managing the design process for large-scale, technically complex projects, preferably within the data centre or similar sectors.

* Strong knowledge of construction methods, building regulations, and industry standards.

* Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

* Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.

* A degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
