The engineering team is at the forefront of the business in defining initial concepts with our customers and then using standard tools and processes to develop those concepts into usable products and bespoke engineered solutions. We are now looking to expand our Engineering capabilities in-house and are seeking an experienced Engineer to enhance our ability to support our growing range of customers. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a small engineering team, supporting our onsite production team and external sales team. Purpose of Role: Reporting to the Engineering & Technical Manager, this role will be a senior level position within the engineering team responsible for designing and specifying products that meet the needs of our diverse customer base and supporting the development of the wider engineering team. Working closely and providing key information to the production team; technical and costing support to the sales team, and collaborating with colleagues across our and the global group business in following new product development processes will be core to the role. Main Duties: Provide technical & design engineering support to Sales Calculate direct costs of manufactured products ready for quoting Create manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks Update and produce manufacturing data, BOMs & routes ready for production planning Maintain records of drawings, documents & key paperwork New product development and assisting these into production along with SOPs Align and follow standard NPD processes across group businesses Identify potential suppliers of new parts & materials Work closely with production engineering, quality & production to maximize efficiency Undertake project work to drive continual improvement through the business Liaise with customers on new and existing products About You: Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Proficiency in design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and/or other similar tools Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Project Management experience, with a proven ability to work on multiple projects (great at multi-tasking) Very well organized and able to work autonomously Ability to work on-site in Bolton, 5 days a week Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team Experience in the heating element industry is an advantage What We Can Offer You: 25 days holiday, increasing with length of service Cash Health Plan/Discount Scheme Free onsite parking Great company social events Cycle to Work Scheme Pension Scheme Training and Development Opportunities, both internally and externally Bespoke career progression through the business Please Note: No agencies.
