Contract Length: 6 months Location: Manchester Working Arrangement: Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite per week Rate: 600 - 650 p/d INSIDE IR35

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Senior Developer to join our government client on a critical project. You'll be working on a brand-new application from the ground up, with responsibilities ranging from creating new APIs to integrating cutting-edge security measures. If you're a highly skilled developer with a passion for solving complex problems and building innovative solutions, this is the opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain code using Node.js as the primary framework. Build and deploy applications using AWS and serverless architecture. Lead the creation and integration of APIs, ensuring functionality and scalability. Collaborate with the team on the app's authentication and authorisation framework. Solve complex challenges related to security, focusing on One Log and legacy integrations. Work in an agile, fast-paced environment, leading by example and mentoring junior team members.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Node.js expertise is a must (Java experience is acceptable, provided there's a strong Node.js background). Demonstrated experience with AWS and serverless technologies. Over 5 years of experience as a Senior Developer working on large-scale applications. Strong understanding of authentication and authorisation processes, with security-focused development experience being a major advantage. Ability to build APIs from scratch, with a focus on both new development and integration with legacy systems.

Desirable Skills:

Background in government or public sector projects. Knowledge of security protocols and best practices. Proven ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a self-starter attitude.
