We are looking for an experienced Diabetes Specialist Nurse as areas of clinical service provision include: Insulin Initiation and management Emerging therapies Insulin Pump Therapy Flash Glucose Monitoring and CGMS Diabetes in Pregnancy Care of young adults including transition Provision of Diabetes Care within a secure mental health facility Areas of education provision include Type 1 and Type 2 structured education and Healthcare Professional Education. An integral part of the role is to focus on promoting a close working relationship between primary and specialist service providers to implement local and national guidelines for diabetes through positive leadership, communication, and expert knowledge of diabetes to support best practice and high standards of diabetes care throughout the Trust. The post holder will also support local GP surgeries and Primary Care Networks in their management of people with diabetes to reduce variation in Primary Care. About us

Education/Qualifications/Training
Registered Nurse - Level 1 NMC Registration Post qualifying Diploma/Degree or equivalent experience (or currently undertaking) Teaching and Assessing Qualification e.g., ENB 998, or equivalent Further recognised training in diabetes care e.g., ENB 928 or equivalent Evidence of further professional qualification/development in Diabetes Care to master's level or equivalent Community qualification Management or leadership qualification Independent and Supplementary Prescribing Qualification Counselling qualification Insulin Pump Therapy CGMS Previous Experience
Minimum 5 years post registration experience Minimum 2 years' experience as Diabetes Specialist Nurse Experience of training nurses and other health professionals Experience of audit/research/project management Experience of autonomous & multi-disciplinary working Additional Requirements
Valid driving licence Use of vehicle for work purposes Disclosure and Barring Service Check
