An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Ecologist to join an environmental company based in the heart of Bristol. In this role, the successful candidate will play a key part in delivering complex ecological assessments and managing a diverse project portfolio. Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage ecological surveys, assessments, and reports to ensure compliance with environmental legislation. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior ecologists, supporting their professional development. Manage projects, including budget oversight, client communication, and ensuring the timely delivery of work. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, architects, and developers, to integrate ecological considerations into design and development projects. Foster and maintain client relationships, identifying opportunities to grow the business. Keep up to date with environmental legislation, best practices, and industry trends.

Requirements:

A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline. A Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) is advantageous. Significant experience in ecological consultancy, including habitat and species surveys, and environmental impact assessments. Strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ecological information clearly. A full UK driving license.
