A fantastic new opportunity to progress into a Senior Ecologist role in Derby has now become available! Our client is a leading multidisciplinary firm which uniquely combines design with environment to produce schemes in complex environmentally sensitive locations. They're looking to bring in a new Senior Ecologist to play a key role as a lead on the delivery of high-quality ecological practices, including surveys, assessments and mitigation strategies. You'll have the chance to work as part of a skilled team with a diverse range of specialisms, including environmental planning, masterplanning, urban design and landscape architecture. The company is run by "Homegrown" individuals who have each been with the business since they were junior consultants and put a big importance on employee well-being and benefits, including training schemes, 25 days of holiday (+bank holidays) and volunteering & social events/opportunities. Responsibilities:

As the newest Senior Ecologist, your responsibilities will be focussed on the delivery of standard ecological practices to a high standard. You'll be expected to undertake a wide range of surveys & assessments such as protected species surveys, PEAs or HRAs and technical reports. On top of this, you'll gain valuable experience in project management, handling aspects of it for smaller projects initially before working up in scale. Furthermore, as Senior Ecologist you'll be advising clients/stakeholders on BNG assessments and utilising the DEFRA metric for analysis of habitat biodiversity value. Requirements:

To be successful, you'll need this practical experience and a strong working knowledge of UK legislation and policy framework relating to ecology as well as experience advising clients/stakeholders on matters like BNG assessments and carrying out analysis using DEFRA metrics. You'll also need extensive experience carrying out a wide range of ecological surveys and assessments and producing the associated technical reports. Alongside the strong working knowledge of standard practices, to be considered for this Senior Ecologist role, you'll ideally be in possession of Natural England Protected Species licenses, a member of a relevant professional body and have a full UK driver's license with access to your own vehicle. If this role seems like the ideal fit for you, click the 'Apply' button to submit your CV for review. If someone you know is looking for work, put them in contact with me and you could earn a £250 reward if they're successful.
