Full-time or Part-time Luscinia Ecology is seeking a full-time or part-time Senior Ecologist to join our growing team. Established in April 2022, we’ve had strong performance and growth over the last three survey seasons, growing to a team of five. We’re a CIEEM Registered Practice and our strength is in the delivery of high-quality services, which ultimately leads to client retention and consistent client referral. Our team means the world to us – we’re a friendly, welcoming and inclusive bunch. We ensure each team member has autonomy in a nurturing environment in which they can grow and develop whilst delivering projects right through from quoting to invoicing. The emphasis on the role will be to further develop skills and experience in ecological consultancy and we’ll support this aim from the outset of employment. As we’re a new and developing company, we’re looking for individuals to take ownership, apply new ideas, and improve overall delivery. We view this as a genuine opportunity to shape outputs. We are based in Bristol with projects spanning the South of England. Most of our projects are located within the Home Counties, Southwest and South Midlands. The project-based nature of our work means you’ll need to be willing to undertake travel with some overnight stays. However, we ensure our team maintains good work-life balance. Why Join Us? As we grow, we seek individuals who can take ownership, apply new ideas, and improve overall delivery – helping shape the future of our business. Requirements: A genuine and demonstrable enthusiasm for ecology and the environment Degree or equivalent in an ecology related discipline Self-awareness and an ability to apply critical thought process Excellent verbal and written communication skills Robust and precise reporting writing skills Capable of working independently and flexibly, often outdoors, and including evening surveys Significant experience of UK Habitat Classification or Phase 1 surveys, along with protected species surveys Experience of working with nature metrics Full driving licence and use of a car Member of CIEEM (or eligible) A strong background in botany / FISC level 4 or equivalent Experience writing mitigation strategies and protected species licenses Significant experience with QGIS Strong client-facing and networking skills How to Apply: Could you be our next outstanding Senior Ecologist?
