CMSEK I am looking for a Senior Ecologist with a good ecological background to deliver ecological expertise for projects in Tonbridge. Role You will have previous experience working in a similar role from an ecological aspect. This role would suit a Senior Ecologist. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead and mentor less experienced Ecologists to undertake a range of railway infrastructure ecological field surveys. Provide and oversee specialist ecological advice and guidance to Ecologists, Site Managers, Engineers, Planners, and others associated with the undertaking and completion of surveys/assessments. Accountable for the production of environmental and ecological appraisal and recommendations reports. Analyse and interpret survey data using specialist software programmes and produce reports to a high technical standard within prescribed timescales to cover ecology requirements and appropriate recommendations. Essential requirements: Background in Ecology, Zoology, Biological Science, or other Environmental Sciences with a degree in Ecology, Zoology, Biological Sciences, or any other relevant environmental sciences. Full/Associate/Graduate membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) (depending on experience). Experience in delivering projects to specified timescales and within agreed budget parameters. Full understanding of UK and European wildlife legislation and best practice guidance. BPSS security clearance and a valid PTS. Current or past senior Ecologist experience. Desirable: Working knowledge of CDM regulations. Knowledge and experience of the operational railway environment.
