Senior Ecologist

to join their growing team. The company works with private sector clients, local authorities, and government bodies to deliver high-quality ecological advice and services that protect biodiversity and support sustainable development. About the Role as a Senior Ecologist: As a Senior Ecologist, you will take a leading role in managing and delivering a range of exciting ecological projects across the South-East and nationally. Responsibilities include: Overseeing and conducting desk studies, preliminary ecological appraisals, and Phase 2 habitat surveys Leading bat roost assessments, protected species surveys, and ecological impact assessments for species such as bats, reptiles, amphibians, dormice, water voles, invertebrates, and birds Managing ecological site works and advising clients on ecological considerations in the planning process Developing and providing practical, innovative solutions to balance development needs with ecological requirements Supporting and mentoring junior staff and contributing to the ongoing development of the team Senior Ecologist Requirements: Extensive experience within ecological consultancy, with a proven track record in managing ecological projects Strong report writing skills and experience producing high-quality technical documents In-depth knowledge of UK wildlife, habitats, and relevant legislation Excellent client management and communication skills A full UK driving licence Benefits: 24 days of holiday + bank holidays Enhanced company pension scheme Cycle to Work Scheme Ongoing training and CPD opportunities, including a monthly day out for CPD Paid professional membership fees Annual performance-related bonus Exciting social events Opportunities to work on diverse and impactful projects This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Ecologist to join a supportive, collaborative team and play a key role in delivering sustainable, ecologically sound development projects.
