We are expanding our electrical engineering department to meet the increased demand our business is seeing. We are looking to recruit someone who can add value from day one. The successful applicant will have been working in a similar role for a number of years and will be able to work independently to complete projects on time and on budget to the customer specifications. Key Aspects of the Role: Understanding contracts with respect to the electrical and instrumentation scope of supply for centrifuge packages. (Would be a benefit to have some mechanical engineering knowledge but not essential) Taking part in the tendering process – reviewing specifications, creating deviation lists and negotiating scope of supply. Must comply with customer specifications and any relevant engineering standards. Preparing P&ID as per the client and Thomas Broadbent & Sons requirements and be able to negotiate with the client to achieve the best scope of supply. Attending and taking part in the KOM, HAZOP, SIL assessment at vendor location or remotely. Detailed engineering activities such as specification of motors, heaters, junction boxes etc. for the centrifuge plus the supporting lubrication and seal systems. Carry out SIL calculations. Choose suitable components for use in an explosive atmosphere in conformity with ATEX or IEC Ex. Producing Bill of Materials (BOM) for the complete electrical scope of supply. Choose skid electrical components based on project specification and create the BOM – Instrument Fittings, Glands, Cables, Cable tray etc. Creating enquiries with sub vendors for technical & commercial discussion. Engineering documents such as Instrument List, IO list, Cable List, Interconnection diagram, Control Philosophy, Cause & Effect, and Logic Diagram etc. Compiling FAT and SAT documents. Attending 3rd party FAT for DCS controlled equipment at vendor location. Experience and Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years experience in an industry driven by client specifications. Much of our work is with Petrochemical companies. Should be self-motivated and willing to be flexible. Working in a multi-disciplined team to deliver the project on time in budget. Projects typically last up to a year and value between £200K and £6M. Salary is competitive and depending on experience.
