Our client is currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer. Based in Aberdeen, the role is on a permanent, fulltime basis. ROLE The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will design and develop electrical systems for new and existing equipment, producing electrical design outputs in line with project requirements and ensuring compliance with industry standards. RESPONSIBILITIES Design and specification of electrical systems for new and existing equipment. Develop designs from concept through to finished product in line with design request and equipment technical specification. Performing Engineering verification analysis to assess suitability of design. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards. Creating quality designs, drawings, calculations and supporting documents in line with design request requirements. Undertake role of lead electrical design engineer on projects. Provide electrical engineering support across the business. Provide support / assistance in the process of assembly, testing and deployment of company equipment. Determine the availability of assets and assemblies based on their electrical: certification, condition of repair, allocation, and operation. Check and approval of technical documents associated with design development. Support engineering cost and delivery estimates. Ensure project progress is sufficiently communicated to Engineering Design Lead and key project stakeholders. REQUIREMENTS Essential Degree qualified in relevant field (Electrical Engineering) Engineering experience in electrical / mechanical equipment design and manufacture Design development of new products / technology Providing engineering solutions to design problems 2D CAD Systems Knowledge and expertise in Electrical Design Engineering Excellent written and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of Machinery Directive Working knowledge of ATEX Directive Proficient in hand calculations for verification of design suitability Prioritising conflicting workloads Working to tight deadlines Self-motivated and ability to work under pressure Good team player with sound interpersonal skills Driving Licence Preferred BOSIET and MIST Chartered Engineer or working towards Experience working in Oil and Gas Industry Experience with drilling, solids control or drilling fluids areas CE Marking of electrical equipment and machines AutoCAD
