Principal / Senior Electrical Design Engineer - (Building Services / MEP) Cornwall – Flexible Working £55k - £65k Benefits Include Discretionary performance related bonus scheme paid twice yearly. 25 days holiday + bank holidays Pension Medical cover Senior Electrical Design Engineer / Principal Electrical Design Engineer / MEP Design / Building Services Design Due to ongoing growth this design consultancy is looking for a Senior or Principal Electrical Design Engineer to become part of the foundation of a new team who will be delivering innovative and creative projects. You will work on a broad spectrum of projects ranging from retail, education, mixed use and commercial, through to health and residential. Role and Responsibilities Working as part of a design team delivering detailed design Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teams Attending a range of project group and technical meetings Ensuring that the design of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements Advising clients and architects on energy use and conservation in a range of buildings and sites, aiming to minimise the environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprint Experience and Skills Required 8 -10 years experience running building services projects from conception through to completion including calculations, drawings, specifications, etc A relevant electrical or building services degree with chartership preferred. Competent in leading design projects and managing internal engineering teams Have a sound commercial, financial and contractual understanding of working in a consulting practice. Comfortable dealing with clients Able to develop, support and mentor junior engineers.
