About the Role This role is to join the building services design team within a highly regarded multidisciplinary consultancy. They have a friendly culture and pride themselves on offering working flexibility and paid overtime. Projects are in the following sectors: sporting stadiums, commercial, retail, education, healthcare, heritage, leisure, industrial, and public sector.
Responsibilities Undertakes a client-facing role in the development, design, and coordination of engineering project services. Design of lighting, small power, fire alarm, lighting protection, sub-mains distribution, and ancillary electrical services. Use of design software to prepare calculations and designs. Preparation of specifications, written reports, and condition surveys. Preparation of equipment schedules. Drawing schematics, general arrangements, and sections for electrical services and marking up of drawings. Site inspections for witnessing, testing, and commissioning of electrical installations.
Required Skills Bachelor's or master's degree in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar vocational background. Completed 5+ years UK building services experience. Experienced in the use of cable sizing and lighting design software packages such as Amtech, Dialux, Relux, and CYMAP. Working towards or achieved professional membership status (Chartered or Associate) would be beneficial although not essential. Building regulations and British Standards experience.
