Senior Electrical Engineer

to support the world class Orion Laser Facility, to conduct and deliver electrical operations safely across our Engineering & Science functions. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, your role will focus on electrical projects from initial concept to delivery, overseeing the development and implementation of electrical engineering solutions, substantiate schemes and detailed designs, electrical drawings, and calculations. Location : Reading Package : £47,690 - £60,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience) The Role What will you be responsible for? A high level of technical and knowledge allowing the application of engineering principles to analyse and design electrical systems. Understanding regulations and ensuring tasks and installations comply with regulations. Delivery of Conceptual designs, Detail designs, Manufacturing specifications, Operational documentation and Validation evidence for electrical engineering solutions in relation to defined requirements. Producing high quality reports and presentations on capability metrics. Ensure technical needs are understood, options are considered, and appropriate solutions are implemented within programme constraints. Making evidence based professional engineering decisions to solve technical problems within your area of responsibility. Lead SME for all electrical systems within a set boundary. Leading and advising electrical engineers in the delivery of innovative solutions to complex engineering problems and ensuring that appropriate standards are set, and best practices implemented. Coaching and mentoring staff to achieve appropriate levels of competency. Planning and directing electrical maintenance activities. What will you need to be considered? An HND or Bachelor's Degree in an Electrical discipline, or relevant proven experience. Proven experience of delivering projects with a consideration for quality, time and cost. Strong communication skills (written and oral). Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. Good working knowledge of Excel. What will you get from us? As part of our People Promise, AWE
