In this role, you will lead efforts to deliver high-performance electrical solutions for energy storage systems, enabling flexible, zero-carbon heating for a growing market. This opportunity offers a chance to make a tangible impact in renewable energy technology and to work within a mission-driven team committed to sustainable innovation.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Engineer:

Develop and execute electrical designs and testing protocols for medium-voltage systems, ranging from 1MW to 20MW, to support the advancement of energy storage technologies. Specify and manage the procurement of high-voltage equipment, including substations, transformers, LV and HV switchgear, while coordinating with suppliers and contractors. Lead electrical system safety reviews and compliance evaluations, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations. Oversee the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of medium-voltage systems, offering technical expertise to cross-functional teams. Generate and maintain detailed documentation, including one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and specifications, as well as technical assessments and reports. Prepare requirements and oversee power system studies, such as load flow, short circuit, and protective coordination analyses, while managing external contractors and subcontractors. Provide technical support in pre-sales activities and collaborate with internal teams to identify optimal solutions for customer projects.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). A minimum of 5 years' experience in medium-voltage electrical engineering, with a strong understanding of LV and HV switchgear, controls, and transformer integration. Detailed knowledge of standards, codes, and safety requirements in the electrical sector. Proven experience in design development, installation, and commissioning, with an operational management background considered advantageous. Familiarity with electrical distribution network connections, system-level electrical design, and drawing preparation.

What We Offer:

A salary of £85,000-£95,000 depending on experience. Share options. 25 days holiday + bank holidays. Hybrid working 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home. Flexible hours. You will join a collaborative and inclusive team that values each member's contributions and encourages growth. The position offers a competitive salary, share options, and opportunities to engage in meaningful climate-focused projects within a supportive environment.
