The Company

This company was formed over 40 years ago. Their principal activities are the design of Mechanical, Electrical, Refrigeration, Sprinkler Systems and Insulated Structure Installations, along with all of the specialist service elements that these packages require.

The purpose of this company is to be fully integrated into any design team to cover all aspects of building services design to the highest levels, inclusive of 3D modelling and BIM technology.

They are at the forefront of modern building services design and are unrivalled in their design and project delivery capabilities.

They are also experts in the design of new developments and/or refurbishments in all markets, including; e-commerce, commercial, industrial & Logistics, residential, hotel, leisure, and mixed-use developments.

All of their design engineers are highly motivated, skilled, and experienced building services engineers that offer second to none expertise and innovation across various market sectors. Their entire team ensures high levels of communication and integration with the wider design team to ensure a seamless design from concept through to completion.

Working closely with their clients, they provide a service that is second to none based on high standards of engineering and a commitment to cost-effective solutions maximising the longevity of equipment whilst minimising running costs.

The Position

Due to growth within the business, they are now looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. You will be fully conversant in all aspects of electrical design associated with Building Engineering Services including the site wide authority supplies required for major construction sites and industrial premises.

Key Expectations:

Provide evidence of previous major project design experience in electrical engineering.

Provide evidence of your experience and understanding of integrated design in buildings.

Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of detailed co-ordination with other design disciplines.

Possess genuine interest and knowledge of sustainable design and low energy buildings.

Provide evidence of delivering projects from inception to completion, through your own efforts and that of your team.

Familiarity with site practices, and experience of inspections and surveys.

Operational understanding of QA systems.

Possess a good understanding of the commercial factors which affect design solutions.

Professional and Technical Expertise Requirements:

Competent in specification writing, design/drawing for all building types.

Knowledge of key health and safety issues and legislation.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications – word, excel, etc.

Must possess good knowledge and a competent ability in the use of Amtech and their preferred Lighting Design Software.

Be conversant with up to date IT, technical methodology and information sources.

Possess a thorough understanding of the relevant and current British and industry Standards.

Possess the ability to prioritise project and team workload/s.

Possess the ability to work to tight deadlines.
