You will join our Building Services department As our new Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be part of a highly dynamic team. Our Building Services team has a deep focus on technical delivery and an excellent understanding of client care. You will be an important part of a close-knit team working on a wide variety of project work in and around Southampton. There is also the opportunity to get involved in international signature projects if desired. For the right candidate, there is the opportunity to progress rapidly, with increasing client-facing duties and mentoring of junior engineers and apprentices. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be: Deliver sustainable design solutions to the required standards and supervise the work of others in this function. Demonstrate good competency across the full spectrum of design stages; from developing building services strategies at Stage 2 to writing detailed specifications at Stage 4, as well as supervising works on site. Manage time on projects to suit deadlines and complete assigned tasks as stipulated by the Ramboll project design manager. Actively support the project manager in organizing the breakdown of tasks and their dependencies on delivery deadlines. Focus on client and industry relations that seek to promote the reputation of yourself and Ramboll in order to build upon your business development focus. Collaborate with industry partners and clients to successfully deliver projects and provide opportunities to secure repeat work. Your key deliverables over the first 12-24 months for this role will be: Maintain excellent levels of client service. Help to develop and promote Ramboll’s multi-discipline capability in the local market. Ensure Ramboll Q.A procedures are implemented. Make a meaningful contribution to our technical excellence strategy. Your starting point for constant growth From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is: A qualified Engineer with a proven and demonstrable track record in your discipline. A CIBSE / IET / IMechE Engineering Council accredited honours degree, or an HNC in an applicable discipline with commitment to continue with higher education. Achieved IEng Status and working towards CEng. An understanding of financial arrangements for projects including fee forecasting, fee preparation, and allocation. Accustomed to providing guidance to graduates and technicians, demonstrating your in-depth understanding of design engineering. A proven ability to work on a number of projects at any one time. Forward-thinking and passionate about digital design innovation and ‘smart design’ in an increasingly digitalized construction arena. Demonstrate compliance in tools such as Amtech, Relux, MagiCad, Revit. Ideally, have experience across different sectors such as Building Services Design, Site surveys & inspections, Snagging, Client & design team meetings. Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include: Impressive collaboration skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts. Attention to detail and pride in the work you produce. Able to motivate and inspire confidence in peers and clients. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of your discipline.
