Senior Electrician / Pump Engineer

to join our team in Hamilton, Scotland. This will be a hands-on role as well as providing supervisory and mentorship to a small team of pump technicians. You will be required to design, develop and maintain electrical control systems and components to required specifications. Plan, install and maintain electrical wiring systems for all types of Waterwell projects and support the Water Wells management team with technical input. This is a full-time role and due to the nature of the clients we serve you will be required to travel extensively throughout the UK, staying away as required, potentially staying abroad in the future. Key Responsibilities Undertake the role of Site Supervisor on projects requiring multiple engineers. Diagnose and repair electrical, pumping and treatment faults in commercial and domestic borehole systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring. Undertake borehole pump testing including mechanical and electrical connections and testing. Install borehole pumping and control systems on newly installed Domestic and Commercial borehole water supplies. Assess the parts needed for a job and place orders for those parts. Conduct routine maintenance and testing on commercial and domestic borehole systems, and ensure installations are to manufacturer standards. Re-wire faulty electrical systems on water pumping systems including water treatment. Ensure good quality workmanship which upholds company standards, complies with private water regulations, and follows safety requirements. Work alone to find and present faults and concerns in borehole electrical systems without receiving explicit direction. Install electrical systems to 18th edition wiring regulations, including installing borehole pump power supplies from new and existing power supplies. Ensure smooth running of day-to-day operations while compliant with statutory regulations, CDM regulations and good practice through the monitoring of standards and maintaining of records. Reactive and Planned Preventative Maintenance. Qualifications: Relevant Electrical/Engineering apprenticeship or HNC equivalent. 18th Edition BS7671. Person Specification: Communication skills are essential for this position as you will be dealing with clients and members of the public, providing professional assessments and advice for customers. Leadership skills are required to enable you to train and mentor pump engineers to the required standards to enable them to competently install and maintain the electrical and pumping systems for all types of Waterwell projects.
