Senior Electronics Design Engineer
| Torquay | Optoelectronics | Photonics Langham Recruitment is supporting a leading optics and photonics organisation in their search for a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join their team in Torquay. Relocation packages and support are available, and there is ongoing support to shape candidates to the full spectrum of the role. Key Responsibilities:
Manage the entire electronics design process, from initial concept through to manufacturing and testing. Lead the development of electronic sub-systems, including requirements analysis and specification creation. Design laser drivers, optical detection systems, and digital control electronics. Develop and maintain embedded software/firmware for controlling opto-electronic components. Perform reliability assessments, parts stress analysis, and manage component obsolescence. Contribute to new business opportunities and create tailored solutions for clients. Ensure a smooth transition from design to production through gate reviews and handover processes. Requirements:
Proven experience in electronics design and development within an industrial setting. Strong skills in analogue, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design. Proficiency in firmware and software development for ARM-based microcontrollers. Skilled in schematic design and PCB layout tools such as Altium. Practical experience with prototyping and the use of laboratory test equipment. Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering. Benefits:
