Cereus Ultrasonics Ltd. is an innovative early-stage company, founded just five years ago and based in Poole, Dorset, UK. Our flagship product is a ground-breaking downhole ultrasonic well inspection tool for the oil and gas industry, with units having been deployed in the US, Australia, Middle East and Europe. The first version was launched at the end of 2022, with two more variants of the technology planned, all utilizing our proprietary ‘Cereus Engine’. We are seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer for a hybrid role (minimum of 3 days in-office) to join our team at the Poole office. You will work with a team of six, including two electronics engineers, and your responsibilities will include: Circuit Design:

From conception through to testing and commissioning, including all stages of design documentation, to support the development of the second version of the Nusonix downhole ultrasonic tool. This will involve both analogue and digital sub-designs, incorporating high memory storage in a system designed to withstand environments up to 150°C. Acoustic Testing:

Contributing to the development of these systems through acoustic testing of transducers and acoustic systems, utilizing novel techniques in our R&D laboratory. This is a full-time position (37.5 hrs/wk.), with attendance in-office for 3 to 5 days per week. Qualifications: A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field. UK residency or Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR); sponsorship is not available. Key Responsibilities: Design, document, implement, and test subsystems for new versions of Nusonix tools. Design and integrate test systems for the production of service tools. Design high-performance lab test systems (amplifiers, receivers, matching parts). Collaborate with manufacturers to produce high-quality, repeatable subsystems. Produce and document new intellectual property (IP). Document new work and methodologies. Maintain and uphold working processes. Conduct acoustic testing with ultrasonic transducers. Required Skills: Strong knowledge of analogue and digital electronics. Proficiency with ECAD tools. Practical skills (e.g., soldering). Self-motivated and prepared to work within a small, specialized team. Teamwork, HSE awareness, time management, proficiency in MS Office.
