Senior Electronics Engineer
Purpose of the Role:
The purpose of the role is to create, maintain and release high-quality hardware and firmware to schedule, by Company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, simulation, debugging, testing and maintenance of microprocessor-based electronic sub-systems comprising programmable logic devices, communications interfaces and related support devices.
Work with hardware, software, mechanical and PCB engineers to deliver specific project goals derived from future product requirements.
Identify and select suitable devices, design digital sub-systems, liaise with the PCB designer and develop firmware.
Deliver hardware and firmware within agreed timescales and budget.
Design and deliver designs with test and manufacture in mind.
Demonstrate competence in using schematic entry tools and the VHDL hardware description language.

Experience in developing hardware and firmware through the entire lifecycle.
Ability to work independently without the need for close supervision.
Ability to analyse processes or tools to propose improvements where applicable.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Team working ability and drive to deliver on time.
Experience in digital sub-system design.
Experience of embedded processors and programmable logic devices.
Experience of interfacing with hardware devices and peripherals.
Familiarity with VHDL and its development tools.
Familiarity with firmware simulation tools.
Behavioural: self-starting, adaptable, problem solving.
Desirable:
An understanding of design for test and manufacture.
Knowledge of issue-tracking tools, such as Jira.
Knowledge of releasing software to Production.
Some knowledge of analogue and digital audio.
An appreciation of interfacing with embedded software.
