A bit about the role: My client is looking for a highly motivated individual, who is passionate about understanding customer problems, and able to deliver high-quality solutions on time. The Software Engineer will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing embedded software into industrial devices. You will lead, mentor, and oversee the Embedded Software/Firmware Team, focusing on firmware architecture and standardizing components for next-generation products. Collaborate on system-level requirements and derive firmware-specific and device-specific functional requirements for current and future projects. Establish and govern the source code repository structure (e.g., GIT). Implement and maintain cross-platform builds (using CMake) for both target (e.g., VxWorks) and Windows simulator builds, supporting unit testing (e.g., GTest/GMock) with a Test Driven Development approach. Develop and coordinate the team’s development of Embedded Software, primarily using C++14. Design and implement runtime and compiler capable of executing PLC programming. Engage in threat model analysis to ensure next-gen products meet cybersecurity compliance. What’s required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics, Controls, or Instrumentation. Proven track record with Real-time operating systems, such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks 7+ Experience as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer. Ability to guide customers in implementing our client's solutions in a compliant manner. Knowledge/Experience of Process Management Principles such as Waterfall/Agile. Knowledge of Control Automation systems and Software database systems. Experience in a similar industrial field. Knowledge of control/automation systems, data recording/logging systems.
