London / Hybrid
Downstream / Midstream Insurance Sector
Our client is a major player in the insurance risk sector where it is involved in the provision of cover for major high hazard sites and assets, including refineries, petrochemical, LNG and oil & gas plants, marine facilities, shipping, and so on. The organisation’s London office is enjoying exceptional levels of growth supporting EMEA and is looking to appoint another experienced chemical or mechanical engineer with significant operational/production exposure acquired in the hydrocarbons, refinery, or petrochemical sectors.
This is an unusually rounded role focusing on routine engineering surveys, but also business interruption reviews where experience of plant finance, scheduling, and economics would be extremely useful. Activities would include core responsibilities such as:
Condition/physical assessments
Description of site operations and processes
Evaluation of plant condition and integrity
Analysis of loss prevention/mitigation issues and opportunities
Software-based desktop risk assessments
Examination/estimation of loss consequences on major incidents such as explosions or natural catastrophes
Projecting and quantifying interruptions to supplier and customer agreements and material movements around major multi-unit sites
Exposure to and skills in asset integrity evaluation and management, operational safety, plant engineering, and maintenance would all be welcome. About 80 days of travel annually can be expected throughout EMEA. Foreign language skills, particularly in Arabic and French, would be welcome.
Our client is looking for substantial experience of COMAH regulated operations and production and is not seeking design engineering candidates at this stage.
