We currently have an exciting vacancy within our Energy Management team to enable us to continue to build on our success and bring new experience, knowledge, and ideas into the team.

We provide a supportive, flexible, and engaging environment and promote job satisfaction for our staff, who in turn deliver high-quality services to the people of Salford. We are responsible for all aspects relating to energy management, including the delivery of energy efficiency measures on a large and varied portfolio of land and buildings across the City of Salford. We deal with schools, social care premises, housing buildings, leisure buildings, and listed historic buildings.

About you

In a rapidly changing environment, we are looking for a highly motivated individual to work alongside the existing team with vast experience in the field of energy management, as well as across other multi-disciplinary teams of professionals including Property Surveyors, Facilities Management, and Mechanical and Electrical Engineers.

About the role

The successful candidate will form part of the Energy Management Team who are responsible for overseeing the Building Energy Management Systems, utility contracts, and ensuring compliance with energy regulations (such as DECs and EPCs), with a focus on reducing carbon emissions across the corporate, leisure, and school estates. The position will have a key role in the management of the BEMS and the Council’s utilities using Energy Monitoring and Targeting software, Systems Link. The post will report to the Energy Manager and support in delivering real change through a range of carbon reduction initiatives, from energy audits through to the project management of installation of renewable and low carbon technologies.

Apart from the ability to carry out detailed technical surveys and feasibility studies, report writing and presentations would form key elements of the role, combined with a requirement to be able to undertake detailed analysis of data and survey findings.

This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
