Are you ready to make an impact, build a reputation for excellence, and thrive in a collaborative environment? At AtkinsRéalis, we're known for our high-quality delivery across a diverse range of projects, and we're proud of the people who make it all possible. By joining us, you'll become part of a team where every voice counts, ideas are welcomed, and innovation is at the forefront of everything we do. We're serious about our work, but we keep things fun, flexible, and supportive. Ask us about our flexible and remote working options, designed to help you enjoy the best of both work and life. We're looking for an experienced Senior Engineer / Associate Principal Engineer to join our Bridges and Civils team within the Transportation Practice, based in Epsom. In this role, you'll be part of some of the most high-profile, multi-disciplinary projects in the UK, including major highway improvement projects with Connect Plus Services, Surrey County Council, Cambridge shire PSC, and Buckinghamshire CC PSC, among others! Your Purpose:

As a Senior Engineer, you'll lead and contribute to a range of civil and structural design packages, bringing your technical and delivery skills to projects that include new highway schemes, maintenance, and structural assessments. Your role will encompass managing design packages, project resources, and financial control to ensure every project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. With a background in civil engineering and hands-on experience in single and multi-disciplinary project delivery, you'll be skilled in taking projects from feasibility to detailed design. If you're passionate about engineering and excited by the challenges and rewards we offer, we want to hear from you—even if your experience doesn't match every single qualification. BEng / MEng or MSc degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent), Chartered status, and ICE or IStructE membership. Proven experience working with clients like National Highways, local authorities, or major contractors. Ability to lead technical reviews, develop project scopes, and manage technical teams, budgets, schedules, and deliverables. Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders, including suppliers, independent reviewers, and local authorities. Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities to collaborate with a variety of clients and colleagues. Why work for AtkinsRéalis?

Our Transportation teams are reinventing transport for a challenging yet exciting future. We're creating new ideas and smart solutions for cities, people, and the environment. You'll be working alongside some of the top people in our industry, solving challenges that bring together traditional engineering and new technologies. As part of our organisation, you'll be in a privileged position, delivering what's right for governments and communities. You'll be helping us to improve our leading environmental performance while enabling others to do the same. Security clearance:

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. If applying to this role, please do not make reference to (in conversation) or include in your application or CV, details of any current or previously held security clearance. We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community - a place where we can all be ourselves, thrive and develop. To help embed inclusion for all, from day one, we offer a range of family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, and employee networks to support staff from different backgrounds.
