20 December 2024 We are looking for an engineer with previous experience supporting Servers in a large corporate network. The role will be a project role working on projects end to end, including solution design, implementation, and documenting for handover to our Operations team. The projects will cover a wide area including server infrastructure from hardware, OSs, virtual platforms, backups, and monitoring. As well as the server infrastructure, the team also supports Infobox BloxOne providing DNS / DHCP/ IPAM services, and two virtual desktop solutions (Microsoft AVD, and VMware Horizon). Your Role: Attend project meetings Design solutions following the company and industry standards. Work with PMs, other internal teams, and 3rd parties to deliver solutions. Install and configure the server elements of solutions, including Hardware, OS, Monitoring, Backup. Create designs, configuration, and support documentation. Handover completed solutions to the Operations team. Build effective working relationships across the Asda Technology function. Design, install, configure solutions following the Asda Security policies. Manage your day-to-day workload to ensure tasks are completed within set timescales. About You: Excellent customer service skills. Excellent communication skills. Ability to deliver to tight deadlines. Ability to work well under pressure. Capable of managing own workload with minimal supervision. Logical and methodical approach to problem solving. Willingness to understand and learn new skills. Strong people skills. Experience supporting Windows, Linux servers, and VMware infrastructure (at L3 level). PowerShell scripting and automation experience. Advantageous to have knowledge/experience in the below: Knowledge and experience of Enterprise Retail IT environments. Experience supporting servers hosted in Azure. Experience with Infoblox BloxOne. Experience with VMware Horizon (VDI) and/or Microsoft AVD. Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication. Automation tools, e.g., Ansible, Packer. Microsoft Server or VMware certification.
