Senior Engineer – Embedded Software

Lotus Cars builds world-class, high-performance and lightweight sports cars that are sold all around the world. Lotus Cars Limited is the manufacturing site of Lotus in the UK. Here we produce all sportscars types such as the Emira and the Evija. To bring the company to the level we want it to be, we are looking for a Senior Engineer - Embedded Software in the ICE Calibrations & Controls Department to join us in our manufacturing plant based in Hethel. Summary: The ideal candidate will be responsible for ECM C-code implementation for Lotus and third-party engine applications. This will lead to progressing to VCU / EDU model based auto code software development at the appropriate project timing. What You'll Do: Experience with writing C-code software, ideally for engine management systems and possibly transmission control systems. Be able to implement the software for new functions, test and calibrate. Carry out vehicle and engine controls system development to Lotus or customer development processes. Prepare for and attend offsite testing and climatic test trips when required. Create control algorithm specifications. Create or modify calibration procedures for new or developing control algorithms. What You'll Bring: Engineering degree / HNC or equivalent experience. A thorough understanding of automotive legislative requirements. A thorough understanding of powertrain controls strategies and software development. Able to understand and write C-code. High level PC skills expected (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc).
