Role: Senior Site Engineer - Highways Location: Folkstone Salary: Up to £50,000 p/a (dependent on experience) Additional: Company vehicle or car allowance Job Type: Full-time - Permanent Are you an experienced Site Engineer with a background in civil infrastructure projects including work on highways schemes? We have an exciting new opportunity with our client, a well-established civil engineering firm with national coverage. Due to increasing workloads and order books, they are looking for an experienced and ambitious Site Engineer to work on a variety of interesting civil engineering schemes across the Kent area.

Key duties: Undertake setting out work using total stations, GPS equipment, and to be able to complete traditional setting out using profiles, batter rail and pegs. Able to read and review construction drawings. Ability to raise technical queries with designers and other members of the client team. Hold a strong level of commercial understanding and know the difference between cost and value. Undertake relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance of the works with the design and specification. Ensure all work being completed complies with quality, safety and environmental policies as well as adhering to company process requirements. Required Skills: This role would suit someone who considers themselves proactive, a strong problem solver and confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with a range of other professionals. It is essential you have previous civil engineering experience, particularly highways schemes working for a main contractor. Hold a BSc/ HND/ HNC qualification or equivalent. CSCS, SSSTS card as well as ICE membership. Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving licence is essential and the successful candidate will be happy to travel to various site across the Kent region. A First Aid at Work qualification would also be desirable.
