We work on projects of all sizes, scopes and scales, from the large M25 Project to the niche Human Drive. Our projects are bringing digitalisation to highways and transforming the way people live and work. And you'll be part of these collaborative design teams based across the country and the world. It's an exciting era for UK highways, with the rise of intelligent networks, autonomous technology and mobility as a service. To manage in emerging areas that interest you, all you need to do is speak up and take the initiative. We are seeking to recruit a Senior Engineer to be based in our Leeds office to support the ongoing expansion of business opportunities primarily within the local transport markets across the UK, as well as supporting the strategic highways market and other market sectors. Whilst we offer flexible working policies, this role would require you to be based out of our Leeds Office 2-3 day a week. Your Purpose: Lead the design or elements of design for projects with our key clients such as Local Authorities, National Highways, Network Rail, Combined Authorities, Developers and/or major Contractors. Identify potential design solutions by using excellent analytical skills to solve engineering problems and applying engineering judgement to appraise and recommend options. Oversee the production of design documentation including sketches, drawings, calculations, reports and specifications to programme and budget. Check and review of deliverables produced by project teams. Assist in the preparation of fee offers and bids to our clients. Work collaboratively with colleagues across AtkinsRéalis. Train and mentor junior/graduate staff. What you can bring: Degree in Civil Engineering. Chartered or Incorporated member of a relevant institution (ICE/IHT) or working towards this qualification. Experience in highway alignment design, incorporating active travel measures, including links and junctions. A thorough comprehension of technical standards relating to highway and active travel design. Experience of client interface in conjunction with other senior staff. Ability to advise clients on technical matters. Ability to coach and develop team members. A willingness to work flexibly to deliver projects to time and budget. Why work for AtkinsRéalis? Security clearance: This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance.
