Our client - One of the leading companies in the Defense market is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. The Senior Engineer - Systems shall utilize their knowledge and experience to undertake activities including but not limited to: Systems Integration System Architecting Requirements Definition and Management Verification and/or Validation Qualification design Support the design, build, acceptance, and through-life support of submarines Responsibilities: Support the development of design solutions to agreed time, cost, and quality in accordance with project or business milestones. Support the development and management of requirements specific to a system or product and/or across a system of systems, platform, or programme. Ensure compliance against contractual requirements and that work is undertaken in accordance with company, safety, environmental, contractual, and local business processes, standards, procedures, and documentation. Ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within the requirements management tools, and has been endorsed by the appropriate level of authority. Understand the contractual and performance requirements for various systems, and support the definition and associated acceptance criteria and events through design, build, integration, installation, and commissioning activities. Review relevant supplier documentation and ensure it is captured and recorded appropriately. Support the development of estimates for the scope of work and resources required to deliver it in order to support bids, proposal development, and project planning activities for various systems. Provide technical support to integrated performance and acceptance activities, including acceptance of equipment from suppliers through to system acceptance by the customer. Skills: Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and practices in the defense, maritime, or closely linked industry, along with the correct recognition of the context of their work within the overall product and an academic basis underpinning the discipline. Knowledge of the engineering lifecycle with experience of operating in the phase relevant to the role and awareness of the entire engineering lifecycle. Knowledge of relevant engineering standards, including safety and environmental regulations. Correct recognition of the context of their work within the overall product and platform/programme. Understanding of the need for and awareness of Product Safety and SHE.
