TBC The Waste and Environment, Programme and Resources Team are recruiting a Senior Environment & Waste Management Officer (Data). The successful candidate will supervise a small team who are responsible for producing performance management statistics and reports, as well as managing, processing and validating waste and environmental data. About the Role Working in a small, friendly team, you'll oversee successful collation and processing of waste data, ensuring the County Council has the information it needs in order to fulfil its statutory duties as a Waste Disposal Authority. You will manage technicians processing data from the Council's contractors, making sure that we complete data returns in good time, in support of statutory returns and the processing of invoices. You will also lead on the improvement of data processes and procedures, in response to changing waste operations and legislation. The successful applicant will have good numerical, management and communications skills, and a high degree of competence with Microsoft Excel. There will be opportunity to learn how to use our bespoke software systems. The work would suit someone with transferable data management skills. Good communication skills are important, and a background in waste management would be advantageous. About You To apply for this post, you must have: A relevant degree (or equivalent qualification) OR equivalent experience in management and provision of waste or environment data. Knowledge of waste and environment legislation, policies and procedures. High degree of competency of standard and bespoke systems, including spreadsheets and databases to report and analyse data. Deliver collective high performance through leadership, the setting of clear priorities and a strong approach to performance management. Be able to work to tight timescales and to agreed targets. Accurate with attention to detail. You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
