Here at Severn Trent, we’re a leading FTSE 100 utility company serving the Midlands and mid-Wales. Our dynamic in-house communications team operates at national, regional, and trade levels, ensuring our message is heard far and wide to our customers, communities, and the businesses we service.
In March 2022, we launched the Get River Positive initiative, with the aim of improving river health and reducing our environmental impact. So far, a huge army of Severn Trenters have delivered over 1200 improvements to cut spills in our region! It’s all part of our £2 billion investment over the next five years to protect and restore river health in our region.
Do you want to help protect and care for rivers and the environment?
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Communications and Engagement Manager to join the communications team and lead our stakeholder & engagement efforts around our official designated (Bathing Water) locations as well as those with high amenity value.
We’ll look for you to coordinate efforts across the business to engage with as many river communities and stakeholders as possible, educating them about our work and commitments in their area. You’ll be responsible for owning and nurturing important relationships with river campaigners and activists to help protect and enhance our precious water environments, as well as working with our team of River Rangers and our front line operations teams.
Key accountabilities include:
Owning and leading delivery of the river’s community engagement plan across the business;
Being the comms go-to person for Bathing Waters, River-User groups, and River Activists, leading on supporting and advising teams with communications and engagement;
Working closely with broader comms teams to ensure consistency of message for river leisure users in all communications;
Protecting and enhancing Severn Trent’s reputation at all times;
Ensuring a single brand strategy throughout all our communication channels.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
