My client is a forward-thinking local authority committed to providing high-quality services to our community. Their Estates and Valuation team is at the forefront of managing and optimizing the Council’s operational Commercial Property Portfolio. The Role : We are seeking a Senior Estates Valuation Surveyor to lead a team in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. Your role will be pivotal in managing, optimizing, and economically driving our property portfolio to support local regeneration and economic growth. Key Responsibilities : Leading People – Operational Management and Performance (30%) : Oversee the operational delivery of a portfolio within the corporate valuation service, manage and develop up to 10 staff members, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Leading on Embedding Policy, Encouraging Local Regeneration & Economic Growth (25%) : Contribute to key strategic documents and provide professional property asset management services, ensuring alignment with the Council’s business goals. Management of Portfolio Performance & Compliance (15%) : Manage data analysis, reporting, and monitoring to optimize the commercial asset portfolio’s value and ensure compliance with statutory duties. Management of Finances (15%) : Oversee a portfolio supporting a multi-million Profit and Loss Account, manage budgeting, forecasting, and minimize commercial property arrears. Leading Technical Expertise (10%) : Act as the professional Valuation Surveyor for the Corporate Estate, providing expert advice on RICS standards, legislation, and best practices. Requirements : A recognized qualification in Surveying or a related field. Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Extensive experience in commercial property and asset valuation. Proven leadership and people management skills. Strong analytical and project management abilities.
