Senior Estimator - Hybrid (4 days on-site, 1 day remote) - £80,000-£90,000 plus package - Sevenoaks A leading client of mine whose mission is to be the partner and employer of choice for designing, building and maintaining critical infrastructure to create a more sustainable and inclusive society is currently on the hunt for a Senior Estimator to come and join their team - you will play a vital role in refurbishment projects, partnerships and frameworks. Responsibilities: Take a proactive lead in producing the numerical elements of tenders, PQQs, and bid submissions, while supervising work completed by other team members. Collaborate closely with commercial and operations teams to promote a unified approach to tender finalization, ensuring the most effective bid solution for the region. Evaluate contract terms, advise stakeholders on risks, and propose practical solutions. Plan tenders efficiently to guarantee the timely and accurate preparation of all documentation and pricing details, resulting in a high-quality submission. Calculate builder's quantities based on drawings and specifications. Identify and investigate any unusual site conditions to fully understand associated risks. Work in partnership with operational and commercial teams to cultivate and strengthen relationships with existing and new supply chain partners. Develop cost models and projected life cycle costs across the operation, working with the Business Development Team to analyse market benchmarks, performance metrics, and internal cost/value data. Manage the tender process effectively, including prompt issuance of supply chain inquiries, thorough comparison of supplier quotations for compliance, accurate calculation of preliminary costs, and proactive identification and management of risks and constraints. Actively participate in the adjudication process, ensuring tenders are precisely prepared and presented. Attend relevant meetings, including mobilization, handover, design, and bid sessions. Collaborate with the Planning and Technical Teams to define tender programs, refine design information, and develop construction methods. Support project work as assigned to advance departmental and business objectives. Engage proactively in proposals aimed at enhancing the estimating function within the organisation. Experience required: Relevant Degree or equivalent Proven track record of winning profitable work Good understanding of business development and the bidding market place Advanced skills in Microsoft Office particularly Excel Estimating Software Packages Organisation and project management skills, able to prioritise Good knowledge of marketing and economic factors. Ability to work on own initiative and well as part of a team. Strong practical knowledge of construction work types and methods. Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal, presentation, influencing and negotiation skills. Proven track record in the development of cost models and predicted life cycle costs. Awareness of commercial aspects including standard forms of contracts (NEC, TPC2005, JCT, PPC2000), conflict management and dispute resolution. Valid driving licence
