White Label are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering business in Alfreton for a motivated and experienced Senior Estimator. This full-time, permanent position offers the chance to join a thriving team delivering bespoke engineered solutions to clients in industries such as Defence and Nuclear.

The Role

This is a key role within the company, requiring a detail-oriented individual with strong technical expertise. The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets, ensuring all proposals meet client specifications and align with the company's capabilities and business objectives.

Package details:

A competitive base salary of £35,000 - £50,000, depending on experience and market knowledge. The opportunity to work with a dynamic, growing business delivering high-profile engineering projects. A supportive and collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Estimator:

Perform detailed take-offs and material measurements from engineers' and architects' drawings and specifications. Develop cost estimates in line with business systems and protocols. Prepare comprehensive quotations, pricing schedules, and presentation documents for tender submissions. Establish project budgets for the Commercial, Procurement, and Project Teams. Review and advise on client-proposed contract documentation to ensure feasibility and compliance. Assist with the preparation of handover documentation for the Commercial and Project Teams. Report to the Sales Director and liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and clients as required. Continuously improve estimating techniques and processes to maintain high quality and efficiency.

About You

Essential Skills and Experience:

Strong knowledge of technical drawings, construction methods, and engineering principles, particularly within the metalwork or structural steel industry. Previous experience estimating for projects involving steelwork. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, engineers, and suppliers. Advanced IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (specific training on bespoke software will be provided). A proactive, motivated attitude and strong attention to detail.
