December 3, 2024 Fawkes & Reece are working with a regional contractor that works in with local authorities and private clients who are looking for a Senior Estimator. They are currently working on projects that are worth between £2m and £8m. They are seeking a Senior Estimator to join their busy preconstruction team that tenders on projects that have a scope of works that includes s278 works, road construction, flood alleviation schemes, structures and other infrastructure. The role is suitable for an Estimator looking for the opportunity to step into a senior role or an established Senior Estimator that'll work with the senior management. You will report directly to the Operations Director and your duties will include (but not limited to): Assessments of potential projects all prior to tender reviews and submission of quotations Preparing tender documents (Take- Offs from drawings & Bill of Quantities) Dealing with sub contract quotations Managing the production of the tender costs in consultation with the project planner, design manager and bid manager allocated to the project Attending pre-let and post tender interviews to discuss potential value engineering options Handover of successful tender information such that the site teams are suitably briefed Requirements: Good understanding of first principles. Experience working in the residential sector would be desirable. Experience tendering on civil engineering or infrastructure projects Previous experience having worked as an Estimator.
