Job Description

Working in a hybrid style, based at home and office, you will work full time, 37 hours per week. The role will be for Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children and Young people within the Throughcare and Aftercare team. You will have an HNC in Childcare and Education, or equivalent. Responsibilities

You will contribute towards assessments of need and risk, and provide direct services to Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children and care leavers supported by the Throughcare and Aftercare Team. You will assist the Team Manager in the planning, delivery and evaluation of a range of direct work services for UASC in care and care leavers. You will work with other professionals to support young people to achieve positive outcomes in their health, wellbeing, education, employment and relationships. The Individual

You will have experience of working with adolescents and care experienced young people and knowledge of the challenges faced by those who are care experienced. You will have experience of supervision and training staff in the delivery of family support services, delivering parenting programmes with experience of undertaking written assessments, along with experience of working in a children and families setting. You will have proven experience and skills in supervising staff in achieving change, excellent communication skills, verbal and written. You will have effective planning, organisational and decision-making skills along with the ability to work to timescales. You will have good analytical and risk assessment skills with the ability to record information accurately and timeously. You will have the ability to work out with normal working hours on a flexible basis. You will have a current driving licence. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
