Senior Finance Manager - Capital Credit Union

Location:

Edinburgh, Scotland

Contract:

Permanent

Salary:

£45,000 - £50,000 (dependent on experience)

Capital Credit Union is the fifth largest Credit Union in Scotland, with over 31,000 members. The Credit Union provides a range of financial services and products, and it has assets of more than £42 million.

The Credit Union's aim is to expand its services and products to a wide range of people and provide access to affordable credit for our members. As the Credit Union grows, there are more regulation and accounting requirements; therefore, the Finance Department is critical to the growth of the Credit Union. The Senior Finance Manager role will work closely with the Director of Finance & Compliance and the Finance, IT, and Credit Control Teams to ensure that we provide accurate and timely management information and a first-class service to our members.

This post provides a great opportunity to help develop the accounting, regulatory, and monitoring processes for a growing business.

The applicant must be a fully qualified Accountant. Due to the regulatory nature, a high attention to detail is imperative. It will suit someone that understands a customer or membership-based organisation and who has experience of working in a small finance team.

The ideal candidate will have excellent numeracy, report writing, attention to detail, and Excel skills; knowledge of SAGE Accounting software would be an advantage. You will be used to meeting deadlines and achieving objectives. You will be driven to succeed, and you will be able to meet challenging, but realistic targets. Any prior compliance experience would be advantageous for this role.

Key Responsibilities: To play a full and active role as a member of the Credit Union's Management Team. To ensure that Management Accounts, Payroll records, Statutory Accounts, and Budgets for the Credit Union are prepared, and that suppliers and staff are paid on time. To manage a small team of staff with responsibility for processing member transactions and recovery of missed loan payments. To ensure that Finance and Compliance policies and procedures are kept up to date. To act as the main point of contact with both Internal and External Auditors, providing all required information within the agreed timescales. Essential Requirements: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA). Exceptional candidates who can prove qualification by experience will be considered. Extensive Management Accounts preparation experience. High level of attention to detail. Minimum of 3 years' experience of Statutory Financial Accounting, preparing Management Accounts and Budgets. How to Apply:

If you are a qualified Accountant with enthusiasm, a proven track record in Finance, Accounting and Regulation, we would love to hear from you! Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience and why you are interested in this position via our online application form.
