Job Description The closing date for this advert is Monday 6th January 2025 Location: Bury St Edmunds or Burton On Trent Senior Manager (M1) Career Band As Senior Finance Manager - Enterprise Activity, your role will be: To lead a finance team and be responsible for all commercial strategic initiatives. This role and their team will help to identify, shape and drive some of the most important strategic decisions in Greene King. An Enterprise mindset and be outward looking to promote the team’s work and educate across Greene King, whilst driving continuous improvement and efficiency across the team. Build relationships across the finance, commercial and operational community. The role will influence the Director of Group Finance, FC – Enterprise FP&A, COO (and their teams), CXO (and their teams) and MDs, FDs and FCs across the organisation. The role will also involve engaging with external consultants and agencies. Further responsibilities include: Take ownership of enterprise-wide commercial and strategic areas. Identify opportunities, draw conclusions, and work with the COO and their DRs to drive strategic change across the organisation. Whilst there is some routine work, the majority will be ad-hoc and will flex with the business’ priorities. Oversee the production of insightful financial and commercial analysis to shape the direction of strategic, central marketing projects and transformational projects, suitable for Exec approval. Critically evaluate projects from a financial, operational and commercial perspective: challenging Senior Leaders as appropriate. Post investment appraisal of strategic and commercial projects. Oversight of initiatives’ budget, forecast and actuals, with control of spend and monitoring and driving benefits and KPIs. Responsibility for the strat plan submissions and understanding from Transformation projects and Central Marketing. Close liaison with the Finance CoE to drive standardised reporting of key initiatives. Deputise for the FC as required. Developing Self and Others Direct responsibility for the line management and personal development of two Finance Business Partners. Ensure customer-centric focus and high levels of service (internal & external). Continue to develop own talents and strengths and address any areas of self-development. Prioritise workload and allocate accordingly to drive value-add activity, triaging requests as appropriate and setting the agenda to the team. What you'll bring... Qualified accountant. A strong and inspirational leader, having people management skills capable of motivating, leading and influencing teams both under direct control, through the Centre of Excellence and across a matrix structure. Able to form and develop relationships across the wider Greene King business, and with external advisors.
