Senior Financial Accountant
Hybrid working with occasional meetings in their Portsmouth office, up to £57k.
We are delighted to be supporting a global engineering business with the recruitment of a Senior Financial Accountant for their Fixed and Lease Asset Accounting team. Working in the Finance Business Service team, this role will act as a key point of contact both internally and externally on all aspects of Fixed and Lease Asset accounting across the Group.
The role will include:
Administration of the Group's IFRS 16 BPC tool and associated accounting, supporting the eventual interface to ERP systems. Working with business sectors in Fixed and Lease Asset budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to ensure compliance with company, statutory, and audit requirements. Management of fixed and leased asset registers to ensure correct accounting treatment of additions, disposal, and depreciation policy, completeness, valuation, and impairment. Preparation of Fixed and Lease Asset balance sheet reconciliations. Supporting periodic impairment review of Fixed and Lease assets including dealing with external valuation, allocation to cash generating units, and assessing the component usage.
About you: We're seeking a fully qualified Accountant from practice or commerce with: Experience in Statutory reporting. Hands-on experience of working within a Finance function, ideally in a complex international business environment or within a large professional practice. Sound working knowledge of Fixed and Lease accounting is a benefit. Demonstrates commercial awareness with a good understanding of the business environment including customers, competitors, etc.
1 day required on site per week, with some travel required to other UK sites occasionally. Please note security clearance is required for this role.
