We are a young, growing company looking for an ambitious and driven accountant to join our centralised Finance team based in London. This role reports to the Head of Financial Control & Reporting and is a key contributor as part of the Finance team.

You will... Own Month-End Accounting:

Oversee the centralised month-end accounting process for Freetrade Limited and its UK and overseas subsidiaries. Manage General Ledger & Consolidation:

Be responsible for the maintenance, reconciliation, and consolidation of the general ledger, while documenting accounting policies and processes. Strengthen Financial Controls:

Ensure that strong financial controls are in place and operating effectively, including thorough and accurate balance sheet reconciliations. Coordinate Audit Process:

Serve as the primary point of contact for the external audit team, coordinating all audit activities and leading the preparation of financial statements. Technical Lead on Accounting Policies:

Act as the technical expert for advising on accounting policies for new product launches and strategic initiatives within Freetrade, ensuring compliance with relevant UK GAAP/IFRS standards. Tax Compliance & Advisory:

Work closely with our advisors to ensure compliance with all direct and indirect tax-related reporting requirements, including leading our R&D claim and transfer pricing policies. Own the Accounting System:

Take full ownership of the accounting system (NetSuite), ensuring it supports accurate, efficient, and scalable financial operations. Drive Operational Improvements:

Take initiative to identify and implement system, process, and control improvements to drive automation and efficiency. Support Financial Control Operations:

You are a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least five years of hands-on experience as part of a finance function - experience working in or with UK retail financial services regulated firms would be advantageous. You hold strong knowledge and experience of accounting under UK GAAP/IFRS financial reporting compliance; You're systems literate with an understanding of system capabilities (experience with Netsuite is a real plus!); A desire to learn and really get into the details of a Finance operation, while sharing your experience and knowledge with team members; You're a self-starter and a problem solver - you will have a structured and systematic way of working, as well as excellent time management; You thrive in a fast-paced working environment where you can act on and share ideas.
