Areyou an experienced forensic psychologist with a passion fortransformative rehabilitation? At Serco, we’re looking for a SeniorForensic Psychologist to support and drive our TherapeuticCommunity at HMPDovegate. 

 

HMPDovegate is a Category B male establishment based on theStaffordshire/Derbyshire border near Uttoxeter. The operationalcapacity for the prison is 1100 prisoners who are serving a rangeof sentences including remand; those awaiting sentence andconvicted men serving sentences up to life in prison. Joining ouronsite team, you’ll play a key role in delivering psychologicalservices to ourresidents.  

 

TheTherapeutic Community is a unique role, offering the opportunity towork with long term prisoners who are engaged in therapy to reducetheir risk of re-offending. The Therapeutic Community is part ofthe Offender Personality Disorder Pathway; a network of servicessupporting some of the most complex individuals within the CriminalJusticeSystem.

Inthis vital role, you’ll encompass the TC principles in youreveryday practice. You’ll contribute to strategic planning, offerexpert consultancy, and influence multi-disciplinary meetings,making a tangible difference in reducing re-offending and enhancingprisonerrehabilitation. 

 

Aspart of our dedicated and collaborative team, you’ll be entrustedto deliver comprehensive psychological assessments, formulateeffective interventions, provide expert consultancy and act as aprofessional witness in formal settings, while also playing a keyrole in the Rehabilitative Culture strategy. Maintaining highstandards of documentation and compliance will be a must at alltimes.

Whatyou’ll need: 

You’ll be a greatfit for this role if youhave… 

 

  • Charteredstatus with the British Psychological Society (BPS) andregistration as a Forensic Psychologist with the Health and CareProfessions Council(HCPC) 

  • Extensiveexperience in secure settings and working with offenders withcomplexneeds 

  • Strongskills in clinical formulation, risk assessment, and therapeuticinterventions 

  • Provenability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and manage and inspirestaff 

  • Expertisein report writing and presenting evidence in formalsettings 

  • Up-to-dateknowledge of forensic psychology research, especially in offenderrehabilitation and therapeuticcommunities 

 

Desirable(but notessential!): 

  • Registrationwith the Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors(RAAPS) with theBPS 

  • GroupPsychotherapy training and/orexperience 

  • Experiencewith administering and interpreting psychological assessments likePCL-R,IPDE
